Rock the Vote!

I'm excited to go and cast my vote today, and I hope you are too! I wasn't looking forward to standing out in the rain for a couple of hours, but if that's what it takes, then I'm willing to do it, however, the rain has stopped, for now, at least. Rick and I, like many of you, have been religiously following the election coverage and will probably go through withdrawals once it is all over with. Tonight we'll be glued to our television for the full coverage.

Though we won't say who we are voting for, I will say that I'm very proud to have attended the same high school as Barack Obama. He was class of '79 and I was Class of '90. If he wins, it will be a huge coup not just for the country, but also for all of us in Hawaii, and for Punahou School.

Another thing I'm excited about today is my upcoming interview with cake designer Elisa Strauss of Confetti Cakes in NYC, which I'll be posting Part 1 of tomorrow. I really enjoyed interviewing Elisa. She is an amazing talent and provided me with an abundance of information to share with all of you about her business, her cakes and her upcoming release of her new cookbook, which, as a unbelievable coincidence, will be out tomorrow in stores!
