We TV - Amazing Wedding Cakes - No Guts. No Ganache

For anyone who doesn't already know, We TV is premiering a new cake series called "Amazing Wedding Cakes" starting tomorrow night. We're anxious to watch this not only because of the content of the show but Rick used to work at Cake Divas, in Los Angeles, one of the cake design companies profiled for the show. Like Ace of Cakes, there is sure to be a healthy dose of mayhem and drama as the cameras invade 3 high profile cakeries -- Cake Divas, Cake Girls and the Cake Atelier, all owned by women. A Diva-esque Shout-Out!

Now that it's legal for same-sex couples to wed in the state of California we're starting to see some familiar faces at the altar. The New York Daily News last month wrote an article about same-sex couples marrying in California. Joan and Leigh, the owners of Cake Divas in L.A. tied the knot in California in June, I believe it was the 17th, which means in the future, they will have both an anniversary and a birthday (Joan's) to celebrate. Rick worked next to Joan for two years designing cakes at Cake Divas, and Joan and Leigh attended our wedding in 2004. For those not familiar with the Divas, their style is very artful and are in high-demand all over L.A. They have become one of the go-to places for cakes and have done countless celebrity weddings, including Ashton and Demi's wedding cake. We would like to give Joan and Leigh a congratulatory Diva-esque shout-out on their recent nuptuals. After 15 years together, it's now official!
