A Beautiful Vow Renewal

All images courtesy of Absolutely Loved, Stefanie and Anna Riedel

We wanted to start this week off revelling in LOVE! Very recently we helped our couple celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal ceremony and two cakes designed to honor the special occasion. You wouldn't know by looking at this lovely couple and how smitten they are with each other that this wasn't a wedding ceremony. These two lovebirds seemed as lost in the moment of the ceremony and each other as any of our wedding couples, and were just as romantic. The celebration took place at the Oasis World Estates "Oceanfront Oasis" home, owned by (supermodel) Kathy Ireland. We've worked at this location before and the home is a beautiful oceanfront retreat. The important components were there. Our client is a photographer by trade and selecting a photographer to capture her special day was of utmost importance. She chose world-class photographer, Stefanie Riedel of Absolutely Loved, which we thought was a perfect match once we met her and her husband. Stefanie is one of the most romantic photographers we know and we fall in love with her images each time we see them. See for yourself with these Absolutely bee-u-tiful shots taken of the couple and their son, below, and visit Stefanie's website to see her incredible portfolio!

One of the most touching aspects of this vow renewal aside from how obviously in love this couple is, is the inclusion of their son, which is why the second cake was ordered. Their main cake was a handcrafted cherry blossom design which was lovely. The cake intended to honor them as a family had writing all over it which included "Mommy", "Daddy" and "Anson" and words such as "family" "love" and "forever". So sweet! Rick designed the cake to match the colors of their cherry blossom cake and even put a couple blossoms on it.

All our best to our wonderful couple. We hope to see them in another 10 years!

and next up, a Super cake for the kids. See Why tomorrow ...

Pink, Blue and White Cherry Blossom Cake

Our first wedding cake over the Memorial Day weekend was for Kristen and Guy, a super sweet couple with a large guest count -- over 400 people! Their cherry blossom cake was stunning in white, blue and pinks and Rick incorporated many different artistic techniques to create the beautiful design. We wanted it to be an unforgettable presence at the reception. This lovely wedding was expertly coordinated by Mona Hirata of Weddings by Grace & Mona and took place on the grounds of Kualoa Ranch. For all you LOSTIES, this is the area where some of the filming for the show takes place and is very lush. We were rushing from one event to another all night long and were only there a short amount of time, so we felt lucky we had a chance to finally meet photographer Frank Amodo, of Amodo Photo. We've been working with Frank at weddings for several years and have talked to him on the phone and emailed, but have never met him in person, oddly enough. He's extremely kind and oh so talented too! After the wedding at the ranch, we had to rush back to our studio to meet a client picking up her celebration cake, which we'll be sharing with you tomorrow!

Aloha!

Tina and Josh's Cherry Blossom Cake

Photos courtesy of Frank Amodo - Amodo Photo

Yowza! Check out these totally SWEET images of Tina and Josh's cherry blossom cake that Frank Amodo sent us. I thought it was a beautiful cake when Rick made it, but I was completely blown away when I saw the images, which is Rick's and my typical reaction when we see Frank's work. We went with a white fondant icing with handcrafted red/pink cherry blossoms and meandering branch. Totally Turtle flavor. I love the gold-yellow border on each tier. It's a lovely elegant composition and bee-u-tiful photograph. I wish I could stare at it all day, but alas, work beckons. Back to reality.

If you are dying to see more of Tina and Josh's wedding images provided by Frank (just as I can't wait to show them to you) , we'll be running them tomorrow. To see more of Frank's awesome work, including a blog you can get lost in, go to Amodo Photo. Aloha for now!
