Details, details. Honu motifs, sage green chocolate brown and ivory

For Jennifer and Mel's wedding on 8-8-08, luck was all around them. They had one of the luckiest dates of 2008, the much sought-after 8-8-8 date. Their motif of the wedding involved honus, the Hawaiian sea turtle, which many believe bring good luck when you see them, and they had an awesome coordinator to bring it all together, Veronica Trujillo from Parasol Events. Jennifer and Mel are also obviously madly in love with each other and had the support of their family and friends who flew from all over the nation to celebrate with them. As if that wasn't enough, before their wedding, they were featured in the Honolulu Advertiser for an article on 8-8-8 weddings, and on 8-8-8, Rick was filmed by KITV news making their cake, which aired the night before.
This morning as I came into work, I had a lovely assortment of photos sent to me by Jennifer and Mel, (Thanks, guys!!) taken by their photographer David Murphey. David's website is www.killerphotos.com. Killer, indeed, check out these beautiful images! I chose to focus on the details of the wedding, especially the honu motif, which was present throughout the wedding, not just the reception. See for yourself how it all came together. We wish Jennifer and Mel much luck and happiness in their new life together! Thank you for allowing us to create such a fun and fantastic cake design. We will always remember you two!
See Jennifer and Mel's wedding cake and many more on cakelava.com soon!
Aloha!
