She's Girly and a Little on the Wild Side

I just love all the little details of this birthday cake Rick made over the weekend for Aracely. What more could a girly-girl want? It's got all the right components. It's PINK, has handpainted zebra stripes, and adorned with some of a A Girl's Favorite Things -- shoes and makeup, and let's not forget the soft black boa around the cake. So girly, and a little on the wild side. Happy Birthday Aracely!

Sasha runs the business side of cakelava and Rick, our cake designer, has 25 years experience in cakes and is known internationally for cake design and instruction. Before moving to Las Vegas, Rick made cakes in L.A., Seattle and Hawaii. In addition to having their cake shop, Rick and Sasha are the authors of EXTREME CAKEOVERS (Clarkson Potter/Publishers).
