Harry Potter Book Cake

Late last week amidst a flurry of cake orders to prepare for, I happened to notice a silence in the kitchen and walked in to investigate. There was Rick deep in concentration, paint brush in hand working on his latest canvas, a sculpted Harry Potter book Groom's cake, ordered by our bride Junko as a surprise for her fiance, who is a huge Harry Potter fan. Junko chose the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" book for Rick to make, and told us it was her fiance Oscar's favorite book in the series. We were asked to add in a "magic stick", an idea we were all fond of, and Rick handcrafted a magic stick and layed it on top of the book. The level of detail was incredible, and we both felt very pleased with the end result. We're guesing Oscar's groom's cake made his Big Day a little more magical.

Aloha, 'til next time!

Nicely done! I can't imagine how difficult hand painting is!

Had to chuckle about the 'magic stick' or wand as it's also known in the wizarding world. ;-)

Thank you! The bride called it a "magic stick" and although we know the proper term is a wand, we became attached to the "magic stick" term and the "stick", stuck.

Ha! I figured as much! It will forever be deemed a magic stick for me now too!
