Next Featured Wedding Sneak Peek - Jaime and Matthew

Our next Featured Wedding on cakelava.com is a stylish and contemporary black and white affair for Jaime and Matthew, who were married on August 2, 2009 at Lanikuhonua, in Ko Olina, Oahu. If you frequent our blog, you are probably familiar with the venue Lanikuhonua, one of the most sought after locations to marry on Oahu. If you are a bride eyeing this lovely tropical location, plan to book at least 1 year in advance, as the dates go fast! Our bride Jaime from the beginning came to us well in advance of her date with a clear vision of what she wanted for their wedding. The colors would be ivory and black, the vibe chic and contemporary, and the flowers both tropical and romantic. For their wedding cake Jaime and Matthew wanted a design in black and ivory with elegant quilting on the fondant, stripes in the design and a tropical flower pattern. Their wedding cake is the "jaime f" cake on cakelava.com and is a striking design with varying textures, heights and artistic methods used. It beautifully matched the style and colors of the wedding.

The wedding cake was just one of many details that made this wedding a perfect Feature! Chrissy Lambert, whose images have been showcased numerous times in our Featured Weddings, captured Jaime and Matthew's wedding beautifully! Dianna Shitanishi of Hawaii Weddings & Events provided wedding day coordination and design. Flowergirls Hawaii added their usual beautiful flair to the wedding florals. Bruce Watanabe and his team at Catering Connection made the yummy cuisine. Jaime looked radiant in her Monique Lhuillier gown, and Matthew was handsome in his black suit and Hawaiian wedding Maile lei. Rick and I have noticed that many, if not most of our wedding couples are interracial (as are we) like Jaime and Matthew, which is something Hawaii is known for. A fabulous blend of colors and races uniting in a place of natural beauty.
