We barely had time to catch our breath upon returning from Rick's Canada classes when we jumped head-first into our next project, working on a proposal for our first book! Over the past two and a half months, in between our cake orders, we've been quietly nurturing this exciting and complex project. Working with our awesome agents Holly and Allan of
Hollan Publishing our manuscript was pitched and highly received by publishers and went to auction, which is every first-time author's dream! We still can't believe how quickly this is all happening and suddenly we've found ourselves writing our very own cake book! This has been one amazing experience, really more like a dream that we're still waking up from. We are thrilled to announce that we have been signed by Clarkson Potter, an imprint of Crown Publishing and owned by Random House! They are super excited about our book and we can't wait to work them! It was absolutely a dream come true for us to be a "Potter" author. Clarkson Potter is the largest cookbook publisher in America and Random House is, well, no introduction necessary. Potter has some of the most well-known chefs and culinary experts including Martha Stewart, Giada de Laurentis, Ina Garten, Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, and Rachel Ray, to name a few, and we are honored to be amongst them.
For the rest of the year, in addition to our cake orders Rick and I will be working on our book, which is scheduled to be released in Spring 2013. During this time we will do our best to accommodate cake requests but we are also on a deadline and suggest you book early if you are wanting a cake. We can't divulge what our book's concept will be or other details but we are truly excited to write it, design the projects and work with our agents and editors. We promise the book will be a lot of fun and we will keep everyone posted. Thank you so much to those who have given us their support. It means the world to us!
