Apologies for the Silence

Apologies for the silence. Our blog has been much quieter these last several months because our book is commanding our attention at the moment. Hello! We're Rick and Sasha Reichart, owners of cakelava, a Las Vegas custom cake studio that specializes in scratch-made wedding cakes, celebration cakes and 3D sculpted cakes. Prior to opening cakelava in Sin City in 2016, we had a sweet little cake shop for 10 years in Oahu, Hawaii. There we had a loyal following from residents, visitors, and the media and won many awards. Sasha runs the business side of cakelava and Rick, our cake designer, has 25 years experience in cakes and is known internationally for cake design and instruction. Before moving to Las Vegas, Rick made cakes in L.A., Seattle and Hawaii. In addition to having their cake shop, Rick and Sasha are the authors of EXTREME CAKEOVERS (Clarkson Potter/Publishers).
