Hey Scooby!
If ever there was a weekend that we needed at least a day off to recouperate, it was the April 4th weekend. In addition to making one of the most difficult sculpted cakes of his career -- the nearly 3' tall standing Scooby Doo cake, completely out of cake -- Rick also made a huge sculpted Little Einstein's Rocket Ship, in addition to other party cakes and cupcakes. I'm still amazed he was as rejuvenated as he was during our BBQ at our home yesterday. Unfortunately our day of rest involved multiple loads of laundry, working in our yard, a trip to the local hardware store, and then hosting a BBQ. Hosting a dinner at our home is always a fun but involved process. Having two professional culinarians means the dinner Better Be Good, a menu is worked out in advance and we often take care of the dessert as well. As difficult as the Scooby Doo cake was for Rick, it was also very satisfying to make, and Scooby wasn't complaining either. The delivery was fun. Rick placed Scooby looking out from inside our delivery vehicle, I don't think he did it on purpose but I'm guessing that the drivers behind us must have thought he was a real big dog staring at them. Heh.
He had well over a hundred admirers at the party ready to cater to his every need before they dismantled and consumed him. I'm glad we weren't there to watch the cake cutting. We had grown attached to our canine friend both in the making and well before. Scooby had been on order by our client for nearly a year and the excitement on both sides had been building. As luck would have it, we had a client come by this morning to pick up his cupcake order and mentioned he was at a party with one of our cakes over the weekend and it was the Scooby Doo, and I asked him how the cake was received by everyone. He said the cake was delicious and everyone loved the Scooby, and they had lots of fun cutting him. Looking at his photo now I miss the little (BIG) guy, and his cute little (BIG) paws and huge head and BIG eyes, and cute little collar. OK, I'll stop.
Aloha, til next time!

I love your work!!! What type of structure did you use. I would be scared to death to make this at home.
